On Thursday 27th September, the South West Digital Awards recognised hundreds of the region’s best innovators at Plymouth’s School of Creative Arts. With 10 varied categories, the awards acknowledged the entire breadth of the region’s talent. The Best Digital Campaign award, sponsored by Triangle Networks, was awarded to Gloucestershire-based Clear B2B for their Bosch Professional campaign.

The award was presented by Triangle Networks’ Managing Director, Paul Anslow, and accepted by Sharon Smith and Julie Tickell, Group Account Directors at Clear B2B. With goals of engaging younger tradespeople and building strong ties with key trade media, the agency helped the power tool manufacturer exceed all expectations through creative digital content and carefully selected strategic sponsorships.

On winning, Sharon emphasised the impact small businesses can have, echoing the ethos of the awards, saying:

It just goes to show that small budgets don’t mean you can’t achieve good results. We smashed the targets for the campaign.

 

 

Yes it was hard work, it was a whole team effort with the creative team, the client services team and working closely with the client.”

Sharon was keen to encourage others to participate in the awards, adding:

“Yes it takes effort to put together a really good award entry, but it’s worth it because it looks really good for you as an organisation when you’re trying to win new clients and trying to win new business.”

 

“It’s also really good for your ongoing relationships with clients, they’re getting the recognition as well for the hard work they’ve put into the campaigns. It’s worth the effort – it’s good fun, it’s a great opportunity on the night to come down, do some networking and all of that. It’s a great opportunity to meet like-minded people that are keen to make a difference in the digital world.”

 

The awards will return in 2019 and entries are already open. The Best Digital Campaign category will be up for grabs again, this time titled ‘Best Online Marketing Campaign’ – renamed to encourage an even wider variety of entrants, from successful SEO strategies to complete digital marketing campaigns, like Clear B2B’s.
