Community Partners

The South West Digital Awards are all about creating a cohesive community within the South West of the UK. A community where organisations and professionals from all over the region can look for opportunities to collaborate with their peers and show the rest of the UK & the world why the Westcountry is the place to do business. With this in mind, let’s take a moment to thank the community groups that are championing the awards’ ethos.

Software Cornwall

Cornwall is the UK’s third-fastest growing tech cluster and Software Cornwall looks to connect, promote, represent and support the county’s tech community. The not-for-profit website is a great hub, whether you’re looking for a new job or looking for digital businesses from around the county.

“We aim to be the best way for you to plug into our

fast-growing community.”

The group is funded through memberships with a variety of tiers, from discounted prices for students to comprehensive packages for those looking to recruit. Take a look at the memberships on offer.

Kernow DAT

Kernow DAT is also known as ‘An Evening for the Digitally Curious’. A recurring, curated event celebrating all things digital. The events consist of a variety of lightning talks, demos and conversations over locally-sourced refreshments.

“It’s important to meet up and connect in the real world to celebrate our passion for all things digital. Events like this encourage cross-pollination of ideas…”

At the upcoming meeting, there’ll be talks from Anne McCrossan, giving a behind-the-scenes insight into the Open Data Insitute. As well as a talk by Giz Edwards about Lucid Dreaming.

The next Kernow DAT meetup is on 2nd March, at The Poly in Falmouth.

Bath Digital Festival

The Bath Digital Festival looks to bring people and tech together. Championing digital in the city, the festival’s organisers invite everyone from tech professionals, who want to see the latest gear, to those who are interested in learning new digital skills.

“Through working with the council, local businesses, both Universities and other relevant organisations, Bath Digital is putting Bath on the map for cutting-edge digital enterprise and research.”

Run by the Bath Digital Festival Community Interest Company, volunteers from across the city’s digital landscape come together to spread the digital love. The 2017 festival boasted over 75 events across Bath during the week.
