In 2018, at the inaugural South West Digital Awards, hundreds of the region’s best innovators and creatives joined us in recognising the incredible pool of talent the South West has to offer. With 10 categories within digital, the awards acknowledged how diverse the range of work created was, as well as different sectors within digital technology. The Best Digital Campaign Award (now the Best Online Marketing Campaign in 2019), was previously sponsored by Triangle Networks, and was awarded to Gloucestershire-based Clear B2B for their Bosch Professional campaign.

The award was given by Triangle Networks’ Managing Director, Paul Anslow, and accepted by Sharon Smith and Julie Tickell, Group Account Directors at Clear B2B. With the aim of involving younger tradespeople and building strong ties with key trade media, the agency assisted the power tool manufacturer to surpass all expectations through creative digital content and thoughtfully selected strategic sponsorships.

On winning, Sharon highlighted the influence small businesses can have, echoing the ethos of the awards, saying:

“It just goes to show that small budgets don’t mean you can’t achieve good results. We smashed the targets for the campaign.

Yes it was hard work, it was a whole team effort with the creative team, the client services team and working closely with the client.”

Sharon was keen to recommend others to participate in the awards, adding:

“Yes it takes effort to put together a really good award entry, but it’s worth it because it looks really good for you as an organisation when you’re trying to win new clients and trying to win new business.”

Any digital mediums are accepted, as long as the core campaign took place online.

The award was renamed to encourage an even wider variety of entrants: from successful SEO strategies to complete digital marketing campaigns, like Clear B2B’s.
